interactive learning media: Designed specifically for
television-based set-top dvd players, this triple-disk
set comes with an accompanying book and is available
in both PAL and NTSC.
Combining the qualities of a book, and the movement
advantages of a video, the disks contain multiple views
of each move of the Form from start to finish, taking
you through the entire experience.
For many people, attempting to learn tai chi from in
front of a computer may not be appropriate - size of
screen, practice space in the 'den' or office of the
home, etc. So we have provided these DVDs that can plug
straight into set-top dvd players instead. Enjoy learning
the Form from your living room, on a bigger screen!
The DVD's contain each move of the form across the three
disks in four video options: view from the front and
back, view of close-up of the hands and feet, and then
views of both again - but from the previous move so
that you can see continuity between moves.
The
accompanying booklet provides precise and detailed step-bystep
instructions of each move, re-written by Gary robinson
specially for these DVDs. On top of this, there are
two bonus videos, one in detail of the warm up excersizes,
and a film about about tai chi itself. To put all of
this in context, each disk contains a full continual
video of one part of the Long Yang form, buidling up
into the complete three-part series.
For those with vision impairment, a large-text transcript
is available in 14pt. If a larger point size is required,
please contact enquiries@taichidoshop.com.
We believe that these disks are about
as close as you can get to learning and understanding
the Long Yang form of tai chi on a set-top DVD without
a teacher present. Not only can you use them to learn
tai chi, but also as help and guidance in practice even
if you already attend classes or a club.
