The Life and Times and Accomplishments of
Kenshiro Abbe 1915 - 1985
With Philosophical and Scientific Analysis of his Unified Theory of
Kyushindo

Preface: Mr. Raymond Wood 8th Dan Hanshi.

With 45 years of studying Kyushindo I have collected many written articles and listened to numerous stories told to me about the life of Kenshiro Abbe.
My life-long ambition was to write, on behalf of all students, a complete and comprehensive biography of this great Budo Master. Sifting through all of the writings that I have I realized that, for various reasons, it was going to become a very difficult task to complete. There can be seen many discrepancies in the notes (such as dates, places and names of his pupils) that would now be very difficult to ratify. I therefore reluctantly decided that the opportunity of writing such a biography was too much for me to attempt at this point in time. I do not have the necessary time to put aside to take on such a project.

However, after talking to several of my students they persuaded me to make available all of my notes, just as they are and in the form they are electronically stored. I thought that this would not be suitable, but on reflection it seemed to be the only solution. At least this way students will have the chance to read snippets of the stories for the life of Kenshiro Abbe.

Although I have written some of the articles myself I wish not to take credit for the majority of the notes. They have been written by other Masters, Teachers and Students over many years of study and training. I wish for no offence to be taken by anyone and hope that readers will gain some insight into the life of Kenshiro Abbe which they had not known, or appreciated, before this release.
